My good friend Jan has challenged me and some others to Blog Throw down for National Blog Posting Month. The challenge is to write a blog each day in the month of November.
It is truly german that I have accepted a challenge from Jan. She is an outstanding author; publishing professional reports, system analysis, books and her blog Red Wrap. If you are not a follower, it is an fascinating read. Jan has inspired me and many in our community. In my many career leading health care, system change or administration, somehow God has alway brought Jan to my side when I needed her most. She was there to write grants, plan strategically, research and lead. In many ways, Jan is our communities unsung hero in her own right.
I accept the challenge for many reasons.
First, if you remember my first blog post on my Temenos Blog was inspired by my friends Jan and Jen. They are both extremely artistic writers. It is germane that I have accepted this challenge from the very women who originally inspired me to blog.
Second, I am energized by a tough challenge especially from two of my best friends. Blogging on Temenos has become an important part of my life for many reasons. Practicing writing has improved my ability to communicate through the written word. In the past writing proved to be a painfully dreadful task. Currently, I look forward to free time when I can reflect on my thoughts, emotions and experiences and share them through Temenos.
Third, organically, blogging has become my Temenos. It is my time of restoration, pleasure and religion. I create a safe space, calm quiet and peaceful to write. It has become important in my life to rest my body while keeping my spirt and mind nourished. Blogging comes by way of a late night with a fire burning in the fireplace or a Sunday afternoon with a pot of something italian cooking on the stove, acoustic guitar playing on the Bose or on my porch listening to birds sing.
Discover your Temenos, and practice the experience through mind, body and spirit. Blogging has become one component of my Temenos thanks to Jan.
Jen, and Jan, GAME ON! Blog 1: November 2, 2014.
