College bound…A prayer for my son Joshua

Watch over our son Joshua as moves to college today for his first time away from home. As you know you have created this man in your image help him understand that, so he keeps you close while on his journey.

As you see you have created a fine man,- one who seeks your love and approval. As he walks into the world may he be protected from its darkness as you shine your light to lead him to his future. Father help him focus on his studies by reminding him the importance of this priority in his life. When his work is complete and he has gained the knowledge you intended for him, may he explore the opportunity of your plan for his life.

Father teach him the importance of maintaining his relationship with his family especially his mother whose heart is broken as he leaves her nest. Help him love her from a distance reminding her of his return. Let him feel and accept our love as he pushes off today to start his new life one that I know will be blessed with your truth and grace. Watch over our son Abba keep him safe in your arms on his journey.

Joshua 1:9   “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
