The Scientist by Cold Play.

Lyrics

Come up to meet you, tell you I’m sorry
You don’t know how lovely you are
I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh, let’s go back to the start
Running in circles
Coming up tails
Heads on a science apart
Nobody said it was easy
It’s such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh, take me back to the start
I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart
Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
Tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
Oh, and I rush to the start
Running in circles
Chasing our tails
Coming back as we are
Nobody said it was easy
Oh, it’s such a shame for us to part
Nobody said…

Interpretation

This man is on a quest to meet himself for the first time. Unable to find himself while lost in the world while his life feels compartmentalized, he starts walking backward to find the start. Trying to understand his secrets but confused by the obvious science he is forced to dig deep to realize the only way out is to find his beginning.
Always feeling like he is running in circles, he does not see no way out the  maze of his existence.
Trying to scientifically understand, he pulls apart the puzzles pieces of his progress, he only finds that the numbers don’t speak as loud as his heart.
In the analysis of his journey will he find that he has been loved?
Haunted by his past, he wants to go back to who he was from the outset. It is so hard to go back to his true self. What a shame they will have to part.  At the beginning, he continues to run in circles chasing his tail right back to where he started.
Feeling like the only way out of this race would be to separate from the current self to the beginning right where he started.
He is committed to go back to his inception.

I am second. I will share my experiences, as a child of God, husband to Daniel, father, best friend, brother, son, leader, professor, writer and photographer. My intention for this blog is to be random, with no plan, no list, no direction and no expectations. Very different from how I lived my past life. My journey has been blessed by the mercy and grace of God and unwavering love. I hope you enjoy reading and sharing my experiences of hurts, laughter, discovery, friendships, Christ, and my family. Temenos is a safe circle where you can be yourself with peace of mind. Temenos originates from a Greek word which refers to a universal instinct to create a protected, safe space in which to heal, restore and regenerate yourself. My temenos circle is a place to be still and seek Jesus. It becomes my place to pray, reflect in the word of our Lord to shrink, grow in him, and heal my soul. What is your temenos circle?
