Love isn’t a noun

Our sweet Barrett. An original oil on canvas painted by my husband Daniel.

If you haven’t meet our middle son Barrett. This is Barrett’s heart it’s so tender, sweet and loving.

He is like his Dad in that way. A special little boy who is filled with emotions, intellect and analytics from the minute his feet hit the ground in the morning.

At breakfast sometimes he will be silent in a blind stare. I think to myself, my gosh is something wrong? Then it hits me. I ask, Barrett’s what you thinking about and he says nothing.

I nudge him and ask what’s the strategy little man? Alder will respond or no Papa no don’t ask! For the next 30 minutes he explain his strategy for winning the next level in mind craft or Pokémon. Never taking a breath.

I like to call him Einstein and I don’t mean the bagel.

He brain is always working. Both sides actually, his intellect and emotions all at once. A wise friend told me love isn’t a noun it’s a verb and what you see here is a little boy, ahead of his age loving in action.

Most days of late I feel like a lost a lot loving family but right here before my eyes you can see for now, I have all the family I need.

Our sweet Barrett. I love you. ❤️

I am second. I will share my experiences, as a child of God, husband to Daniel, father, best friend, brother, son, leader, professor, writer and photographer. My intention for this blog is to be random, with no plan, no list, no direction and no expectations. Very different from how I lived my past life. My journey has been blessed by the mercy and grace of God and unwavering love. I hope you enjoy reading and sharing my experiences of hurts, laughter, discovery, friendships, Christ, and my family. Temenos is a safe circle where you can be yourself with peace of mind. Temenos originates from a Greek word which refers to a universal instinct to create a protected, safe space in which to heal, restore and regenerate yourself. My temenos circle is a place to be still and seek Jesus. It becomes my place to pray, reflect in the word of our Lord to shrink, grow in him, and heal my soul. What is your temenos circle?
